Ant
nest (Myrmecodia pendans) is a medicinal plant native of Papua highly
efficacious to cure various illnesses naturally and safely, have
traditionally been used by indigenous Papuans to treat a variety of
hereditary diseases. And
now the results of modern research found that these plants contain
active compounds is important as flavonoids, tocopherols, phenolic and
rich in various minerals that are useful as anti-oxidant and anti-cancer
 properties.
Since
its introduction six years ago as a medicinal plant, users are now
increasingly betambah Ants Nest, is not limited in Indonesia, but also
used in several other countries, like Singapore, Malaysia, Germany,
Holland, Britain and the United States.
So why the ant nest Efficacious?
The uniqueness lies in the interaction of ant nests of ants are nesting in the tubers contained therein hallways. The stability of the temperature in it to make an ant colony nesting linger at home in this plant. In
the long term there is a natural chemical reaction between the
compounds released by substances contained ants in the ant nest, this
blend is expected to make a potent ant nest overcome various diseases.
Because
every day more and more positive results reported by users Ants Nest in
treating various cancers, tumors, tuberculosis and so on, then the
empirically undeniable Ants Nest again has proven efficacious as a
medicinal plant. In other words, Ants Nest has been consumed by many people and have been proven to cure various diseases.
The
following are the types of diseases that have been proven to be
addressed by ant nests based on empirical experience of its users.
1. Cancer and tumors
The
types of cancer and tumors, both benign and malignant, which can be
cured with Ant's Nest is a brain cancer, nasal cancer, breast cancer,
liver cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, uterine cancer, skin cancer,
prostate cancer, and cancer blood (leukemia), except for cancers of the throat and oral cavity.
Ants
Nest ability empirically for the treatment of various types of cancer /
tumor is allegedly related to the flavonoid content. There
are several mechanisms of flavonoid in combating tumors / cancer, such
as inactivation of carcinogens, antiproliferasi, inhibition of cell
cycle, induction of apoptosis and differentiation, angiogenesis
inhibition, and reversal of multi-drug resistance or a combination of
these mechanisms.
2. Cardiac disorders, especially coronary heart
Until
now the mechanism is unclear, but the ability of ant nests for the
treatment of various diseases / disorders of heart had something to do
with multi-mineral content of ant nests, particularly calcium and
potassium.
3. Mild or severe stroke
Treatment of stroke is strongly associated with the possibility of multi-mineral content contained in ant nests.
4. Piles (hemorrhoids)
Ants Nest ability to treat haemorrhoid (piles) associated with the flavonoid and high taninnya. Both classes of these compounds in a few studies have indeed been proven to treat hemorrhoids.
5. Lumps in breast
The meaning of lumps in the breast is not swollen tumor (non-neoplastic). Allegedly
similar to the healing mechanisms of tumors and cancer cases, by
relying on the ability of the flavonoid contained in the ant nest.
6. Impaired renal function and prostate
Mechanism
of treatment of renal dysfunction and prostate probably has something
to do with the content of antioxidants (flavonoids and tocopherols) and
multi-minerals that exist in the ant nest.
7. Perimenopause and vaginal discharge
The
process of treatment for menstrual discharge and launch something to do
with the content of flavonoids, tannins, and multi-minerals, especially
 calcium and zinc.
8. Blood circulation
High
content of antioxidants (tocopherol and flavonoids) and multi-minerals
contained in the nest has an important role in blood circulation.
9. Migraine (migraine)
For
the treatment of migraine associated with the function of flavonoid and
multi-minerals in ant nests, particularly calcium, sodium, and
magnesium.
10. Lung disease (tuberculosis)
Treatment of tuberculosis associated with the role of flavonoids contained in the ant nest that serves as an antiviral.
11. Rheumatic (arthritic)
This
is related to the ability of flavonoids as inhibitors of xanthine
oxidase and antioxidant enzymes, and tocopherol as an antioxidant and
multi-minerals contained in the ant nest.
12. Nasal allergic disorders, nosebleeds, sneezing
The compounds responsible for this disorder are antioxidants (tocopherol and flavonoids) and tannins.
13. Heartburn
As with tuberculosis, which play a role in the treatment of ulcer is a flavonoid contained in the ant nest as an antibacterial.
Additional benefits Ants Nest
In
addition to empirically proven to cure various diseases as mentioned
above, Ants Nest can also be used to launch and increase breast milk,
restore sexual desire, and restore and maintain stamina.
1. Launch and increase milk
Multi-mineral
content of plant-ant nests suspected to have an important role in
launching and increase milk production, speeds up recovery after giving
birth the mother's health, and restore femininity (sari Rapet).
2. Restore sexual desire
High
content of antioxidants (tocopherol and flavonoids) and multi-mineral
plant-ant nests suspected to have an important role in increasing sexual
 arousal.
3. Restoring the body's stamina
High
content of antioxidants (tocopherol and flavonoids) and multi-mineral
plant dais ant nests suspected to have an important role in restoring
freshness and stamina.
And proof of efficacy is not only empirically demonstrated. Based
on the results of scientific research from LIPI Biotechnology Center,
revealed that ant nests contain active compounds which are known in the
medical world for the treatment of various diseases.
Expert opinions
Dr. M. Ahkan
Subroto, Expert Researcher of LIPI revealed that the active compounds
contained in Ant's Nest is the flavonoids, tannins, and poliefenol that
act as antioxidants in the body.
In
addition to the above active compounds in ant nests are also found
other useful content, such as tocopherol, magnesium, calcium, iron,
phosphorus, sodium, and zinc. Here is a brief description of some of the beneficial active compounds contained in ant nests:
Flavonoids in the human body functions as an antioxidant so it is good for cancer prevention. The
benefits of flavonoids, among others, is to protect the cell structure,
improving the effectiveness of vitamin C, antinflamasi, prevent bone
loss, and as an antibiotic. Recent studies have revealed that flavonoids are not only useful for prevention, but also for the treatment of cancer. And
as anti-virus, the function of flavonoids have been widely publicized,
including to weaken the virus HIV / AIDS and herpes viruses. In
addition, several studies have also shown that flavonoids reported a
role in the prevention and treatment of several other diseases, are like
asthma, cataracts, diabetes, rheumatism / arthritis, migraines,
hemorrhoids, and perionditis (inflammation, connective tissue supporting
 the tooth root).
Tannins are astrigen that bind and precipitate the excess proteins in the body. Tannins in the field of medicine used to treat diarrhea, Hemostatic (stops bleeding), and hemorrhoids. Therefore Ants Nest ability to treat haemorrhoid (piles) and nosebleeds allegedly related to the content of this substance.
Polyphenols are found in fruits, vegetables and grains. The average human can consume in a day polyphenols to 23 mg. Efficacy of polyphenols are anti-microbial and lowers blood sugar levels. Phenolic
acids are a class of antioxidants or compounds that eliminate free
radicals, which can clog arteries and lead to changes in DNA that can
cause cancer and other diseases.
Tocopherol,
the research showed that alpha-tocopherol at a concentration of 12 ppm
have been able to reduce free radicals up to 96%. Meanwhile, Ant's Nest is rich in antioxidants tocopherol, to about 313 ppm. So
no wonder this herb is known to have a fast reaction in helping to
suppress cancer, tumors, and various forms lumps that could be a tumor
or cancer.
Magnesium
has a role in the function of bone, liver, muscle, the transfer of
intracellular water, alkaline balance, and activity neuromuseluler. The
functions of these minerals may explain some of the other properties of
the ant nest, for example, efficacy in helping to overcome a variety of
diseases / disorders of the heart, blood circulation, treat migraines,
impaired kidney function and prostate, restoring freshness and stamina,
and restore sexual desire .
Calcium function in the work of the heart, implus nerves, and blood clots.
Iron functions in the formation of hemoglobin, transporoksigen, aktivor enzyme.
Phosphorus function in calcium absorption and energy production.
Sodium has an role in electrolyte balance, body fluid volume, and implus nerves, and acid-base balance.
Zinc has a function in protein synthesis sexual function, storing insulin, carbohydrate metabolism, and wound healing.
In connection with uric acid, in his research Dr. M. Ahkan
Subroto see any inhibition of enzyme activity of xanthine oxidase by
estrak Ants Nest, this suggests that the Ants Nest estrak setera with
allopurinol activity, commercial chemical drugs that are used for the
treatment of gout. However,
if the negative effects of allopurinol may increase levels of creatine
to damage the kidneys, then the ants nest in addition to lowering uric
acid will also improve kidney function. This means that ant nests are safer to use in the treatment of gout.
However,
it must be admitted that not all of the mechanism of action of the
active compound content of ant nests in treating various diseases can be
known with certainty, because it still needs to be done to further
research and scientifically sustainable.
Not
rule out the possibility in the future will still be finding other
active compounds of the nest ants that have not been revealed until now,
and can better explain what's behind all these remarkable properties,
which has helped cure many people of various common diseases and weight, which is sometimes difficult or can not be cured medically.
Nutritionist Dr. Mien
Karmini the time to do exploration in Papua in 1995 found that ant
nests are often used as a mixture of porridge and drink daily. "Ant's Nest is believed to increase body immunity and deliver energy," Mien said. Active
substances such as antioxidants, polyphenols, and glycosides contained
in ant nests were able to control a variety of serious illnesses. Each type of active substance was still investigated by the method of structure elucidation.
According
to Dr Apt Subagus Wahyuono MSc from the Faculty of Pharmacy Gadjah Mada
University, glycosides serve as immuno stimulants to boost immunity. "Antioxidants protect the body's cells in order to perform the job well. If
the cell works fine, diseases that disrupt the function of cells such
as cancer can be prevented, "said Dr. Apt Mangestuti Agil MS, lecturer
at the Faculty of Pharmacy Airlangga University Surabaya.
According to entomologist (insect expert), Dr. Wijaya, Ants Nest contain antioxidant compounds, vitamins, and minerals. "In
ants, antioxidants play a role in the formation of colonies, keeping
the eggs away from the germs of disease, the same as in honey bees,"
said Wijaya. He also added that the ant nest containing formic acid. Similar disclosed by Dr. Rosichon Ubaidillah, Center for Biology LIPI ant expert. Rosichon
are often out of the woods Wamena argue that the efficacy of ant nests
may be derived from the saliva or salivary glands of ants and microbes
associated with the ants that live inside plants.
Chinese
medicine expert, Prof. Mohammed Yusuf who had several times heard of
Ant's Nest, said that since 3000 years ago in China plant ants and ant
nests have been exploited as a drug. "Ants and Ant's Nest improve kidney function. Kidney affects many body functions, "he said. William
Aditeja, other Chinese medicine expert, said the ants serves to stop
the pain, cope with rheumatism, and launched a blood vessel.
